Very colorful and trendy, youngsters in Bucharest are special from this point of view. Here are some examples:

In this picture, there are few girls going out at TNB, La Motoare. I will take some time this weekend to take a lot of pictures from this very special place for youngsters. This is the biggest and the largest terasse in Bucharest, meaning that it is on the roof of TNB (National Bucharest Theater). There are a lot of wood benches and tables and you can drink there any non-alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink. But why do I think that this is a very special place for youngsters? Maybe will see it also from the pictures, but since then let me tell you how it evolved.

Before, meaning 7-8 years ago, this terasse was a place for actors to come to, intellectuals, people in artistic fields. Here, public and actors were meeting, drinking a beer. It was a very bohemian place. In a few years, it became a place of personal, identity, trendy fashion display place. It is open all spring and summer. There are concerts there and cinema movie nights. These artistic manifestations brought to this place more and more young people. Who heard about the place from their friends or from the magazines. A very useful magazine who works as a cultural guide in Bucharest is B24 Fun, in which, every week, are posted all the cultural and artistic events in Bucharest. This was a very important resource for youngsters which put them in contact with cultural life. Therefore, La Motoare became a very trendy and cool place to go. In a short time, this terasse grew into a place for display of personal identity. Youngsters come there for socialization, meeting their friends, but most important, for showing off; and there is such a big diversity of subcultures that are displayed there. I would say that this place is marked as anti-mainstream, and just for subcultures. It is a place for hanging-out in its most primary meaning and for listening to music. The passion for fashion, but a personalized one, for teens is here expressed and this place acquired this fame also because here, each year, there is a fair of vintage clothes and items.
